The whole site went down and was down for two days before it was usable again, leaving literally, millions of people without an option to fill in the Census on the required evening. Now it isn't an emergency because people can easily remember where they were on Tuesday evening and fill it in a few days later. There is actually a several weeks leeway for people to submit the detail.
But what if .......... what if this had been an election? There really isn't an option to come back in a week and then cast a vote.
We were given an assurance that the very best practice was in place so that nothing could happen. Well, it did happen! So, what went wrong? Many people are looking at that and I guess eventually someone will get the blame. There are, however, more important things to think about which affect me personally just as much as you. Is that information REALLY safe? We are told it is, but we were also told that it would work smoothly, and it didn't.
Not sure how you feel about it, but I am asking questions as to whether I really should trust these SECURE data situations quite so readily.
